In the numerical analysis of engineering problems, it is often necessary to properly model the behavior and effects of discontinuities and interfaces. For non-linear analysis of steel-concrete composite structures bond-slip interface plays a crucial role. In this study, the authors develop a three-dimensional (3D) model to simulate the behavior of steel-concrete composite slabs using Finite Element Method (FEM). The aim is to clarify the applicability of the developed model for the relation between the transferred shear force and the relative displacement of stud shear connector by comparing the FEM results with corresponding experimental results on beam type specimens with stud shear connector.
