—vŽ| An experimental study was carried out in order to investigate the behavior of bond controlled RC beams to enhance its shear capacity. A total number of twelve beams with various parameters such as bond conditions, dimensions, and reinforcement details were tested. The results clearly suggested that by unbonding the longitudinal bars shear capacity can be greatly enhanced while the failure mode mainly depends on the dimensions and reinforcement details. The behavior of unbonded RC beams can be predicted by a Strut-and-Tie model.
