This paper presents a rational shear model for HSSFRC. The shear model presented inherently considers shear transfer across smooth cracks, bridged by stiff steel fibers, and the resulting crack slip. When implemented into a NLFE algorithm, the model is shown to perform well in simulating the response of uniaxially reinforced HSSFRC panels in shear, including the load-deformation and inclination of principal stress-strain fields. It is shown that while steel fibers are effective in limiting crack slip, they also potentially deteriorate shear transfer capacity. |
