This paper presents the evaluation of shear carried by fibers in fiber reinforced concrete beams (FRC) using tension softening curves. Four FRC beams with various kinds of fibers, which were made by steel with length of 30 mm and 60 mm, polypropylene with 30 mm length, and polyvinyl alcohol with 30 mm length, were tested. The tension softening curve was used for calculating the force transferred across the diagonal crack from its width, which was measured through the image analyzing system. The calculated shear carried by fibers showed good correspondence with the experimental results. |
