要旨 Twelve square columns reinforced by SD345 or SBPDN rebars were tested under axially compressive load to investigate the buckling behavior of ordinary and ultra-high strength rebars in reinforced concrete (RC) columns. Test results indicated that the slenderness ratio of 8 is sufficient to prevent premature buckling of SD345 rebars. Whereas, the SBPDN rebars may buckle before yielding even the slenderness ratio was as small as 4. This fact implies that stronger lateral restraint is required to achieve satisfactory post yielding behavior of ultra-high strength rebars.
