This paper describes a delamination detection method for exterior tile finishing, which is based on the change in strain characteristics between plies before and after delamination. Thermal fatigue tests have been carried out on specimens of external wall tiles adhered to a concrete substrate, testing two mainstream adhesives, namely cementitious tile adhesive and organic adhesives. Fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors were used to track the strain changes in each layer of material from soundness to delamination as it occurred. The sensitivity and feasibility of the technique is discussed and verified. |
