Estimation of the long-period component of displacement response is difficult due to the sensitivity of choice of filtering and long-period noise effects. This paper looks to address this issue by using acceleration recordings to develop an SDOF model of the building, and then using results from analysis using the SDOF model and the wavelet transform method to provide a more accurate displacement estimate. This proposed method was verified using experimental data of a 3-storey RC building tested at E-Defense. |
