The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of active lateral confinement pressure and epoxy resin on the strength and stiffness recovery of shear-damaged RC columns retrofitted by fiber belts. Fiber belts and couplers are the key confining elements in this emergency retrofit technique. Active lateral confinement pressure clamps the damaged RC columns. As a result, the damaged RC columns behave uniformly. It was observed that the strength and stiffness recovery of damaged RC columns is proportional to the applied level of active lateral confinement pressure and use of epoxy resin. |
