要旨 |
The ultimate flexural strength of externally prestressed beams is comparatively smaller than the one with bonded beams. One possibility of enhancing the strength is to provide tendons with large eccentricities, i.e., below the depth of the girder. This paper describes the experimental investigation carried out to study the behavior of such beams. It was found that substantial increase in flexural strength can be obtained, compared to ordinary externally prestressed beams. The experimental results agree well with analytical predictions carried out by two methods, one a rigorous analysis and the other using a simplified prediction equation. |
